According to News 2, on September of 2013, Devin Barnes went to a Franklin, Tennessee, Red Lobster for take-out. He used his check card to pay for the $44 bill, then entered "none" in the tip line. Toni Christina Jenkins was his server and posted the receipt on the internet, only this version had the N-word written in the total, a word that Barnes has denied writing. Jenkins then received $10,000 in donations when the story went public.

But that didn't stop Barnes from filing his million dollar lawsuit. His mother Sallyann told News 2 that "It's still all over the Internet. It is still affecting his life and all of our lives." Barnes even hired a handwriting expert which confirmed that was not his doing. Jenkins claims she too did not write the N-word. "I know I didn't write it," Jenkins told News 2.

Red Lobster is not taking the incident lightly. Their statement read, "As we shared before, it is against our policy to post guest information online. Our standard procedure is to suspend the employee involved with pay while we determine what happened. After the completion of a full investigation into this matter, Miss Jenkins returned to work. As we also shared, we were disgusted by the language used on this guest check as it has no place in our restaurant or anywhere else."

Do you think Barnes deserves a million dollars?
