I Tried Every Prebiotic Soda I Could Find—These Are The Absolute Best

Cola is such an iconic soda category that the bar is set especially high for prebiotic soda brands. And, if we’re being totally honest, the majority of brands did not meet our expectations—except for Slice. This has all of the classic, nostalgic flavor we expect in a cola.

If the standards for a prebiotic cola are high, the bar for a Dr Pepper dupe is in another stratosphere. But two brands really rose to the occasion. SunSip by Health Ade offers its own version, named Dr. Bubbles, and it has the perfect blend of cherry, vanilla, and spice. We may never know the 23 flavors that go into Dr Pepper, but SunSip got it pretty close.

Another seriously solid dupe for Dr Pepper is Poppi’s Doc Pop. This version is much more vanilla-forward, but still tastes well-balanced. No soda will ever perfectly match the source material, but Doc Pop captures the same vibe.

When it comes to lemon lime soda, there are two potential paths a recipe can take. It can taste like actual lemon and lime, or it can taste like Sprite. Slice’s version falls into the latter category. The citrus flavor itself isn’t that discernible, but instead lends a crisp freshness that makes this soda dangerously drinkable.

Olipop’s Lemon Lime, on the other hand, more closely resembles real citrus. The soda tastes similar to sparkling lemonade, and as a lemonade lover, I could easily find myself reaching for a can all summer long.

I grew up loving the highlighter-hued orange sodas from soda fountains. But as an adult, I want something that tastes more like real fruit. Simply Pop checks off all the boxes. It strikes the perfect balance of sweet and tart, and tastes almost like an elevated Hi-C.

Evolution Fresh is arguably best known for their orange juice, so it’s no surprise that their orange soda is a winner. Orange Squeeze tastes strikingly similar to a fancy Italian soda, just with a third of the calories and added fiber.

This flavor took the top spot in our Poppi flavor ranking, and it still remains one of our favorite prebiotic soda flavors of all time. It's tart, sweet, floral, and so refreshing.

If you want pure, unadulterated strawberry flavor, reach for Simply Pop. While some strawberry sodas we tried tasted strikingly similar to those grandma candies, this one tastes like real strawberry juice.

The first word I said after sipping this soda was "wow." Thanks to the inclusion of real fruit juice, the mango flavor is so fresh. This soda is perfect for drinking on its own or as a low-sugar cocktail mixer.

The name of this flavor suggests that it should be placed in the berry category, but this Pop Jones soda tastes like a punch of passionfruit. Its tart, tropical, aromatic flavor is tempered slightly by the strawberry. The soda is giving serious vacation vibes.

This Olipop flavor has us wondering why more brands aren't making peach soda. The fruit notes are tart and slightly floral, balanced by the softness of the cream flavor. This soda is an absolute treat.

There aren't many apple-flavored sodas on the market, but Olipop’s Crisp Apple proves that there should be. This tastes like a cross between a diet soda and sparkling apple juice. It’s a favorite among several Delish team members for a reason.
