Comedian Jay Leno is the proud new owner of Seafair, a majestic oceanfront estate in Newport, Rhode Island. Here's a looks at the $13.5-million property.
The crescent-shaped house sits on a prime six-acre plot in tony Newport.
It's located on Ocean Drive, which the Boston Globe calls "among the highest of Newport's high-rent districts."
Built in 1936 by architect Jame Mackenzie, Jr., the home has eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.
President Obama attended a fundraiser there in 2014.
The house had previously been listed for $17.5 million, according to realtor.com, so Leno may have gotten a "deal."
"The sale of Seafair shows a continued interest in the iconic, luxury estates of Newport. The caliber of these Rhode Island properties are unique to the country and a specialty of our firm," said local realtor Melanie Delman of Lila Delman Real Estate.
It was previously owned by Denver mining heir Verner Zevola Reed, Jr.
