A fight broke out at Heathrow Airport in 2006 between British Airways staff and Snoop Dogg's crew after they denied him entry to the first-class lounge, CBS news reported. The altercation resulted in the rapper being arrested, and denied a travel visa the following year — only being allowed back four years later in 2010.

He was convicted of first-degree murder and served one and a half years of a five-year sentence.

The former heavyweight boxing champion was refused permission into the country in 2013 over his criminal record, which The Guardian report, he gained in 1992 when he was convicted of rape and served three of a six year sentence, as well as gaining convictions for assault, cocaine possession and driving under the influence.

The Home Office said: “In December 2012 we toughened up the rules on entering the UK, replacing the previous discretionary approach with a clearer, stronger framework including mandatory refusals based on the length of, and time since, sentence.”

In 2013, the Associate Press reported the British government warned airlines not to allow an ex-CIA employee, who leaked secret US surveillance details, to fly to the UK, alleging that airports had been given a document with a photograph of Mr Snowden, his date of birth and passport number, which carried the words: "If this individual attempts to travel to the UK: Carriers should deny boarding."

The rapper’s British promoter told press in 2008 that Busta Rhymes was stopped at immigration while arriving in the UK due to “unresolved convictions”, with E! reporting his lawyer at the time arguing Rhymes had a valid work permit, played two shows in Great Britain earlier that year and completed community service for his convictions.
