I always assumed that your potato chip of choice says a lot about you as a person, but I didn't know I'd get practically booted from the Delish office when I shared my (apparently controversial) opinion that Baked Lay's are superior to their fried counterpart.

Before you ask me if I grew up in a granola mom household, the answer is an unequivocal no. We ate Dunkaroos daily after school, sugary cereal for breakfast, and probably more takeout than home-cooked meals (sorry to out you, mom). I don't covet Baked Lay's because they're a healthier chip option. I just like them for their taste!

Don't get me wrong—I love a classic deep-fried potato chip now and then. But they're often greasy and make me feel a bit icky after eating them. Baked Lay's? Well, I could eat those all day. They're often my go-to bag of chips at a deli, and on the rare occasion when I buy a bag of chips for my home, they're at the top of my list.

Thanks to Reddit, I know I'm not alone. "Lays oven baked for me is the best chip in the world. I could eat 2 whole bags and want a third," commented one fan.

"Not a fan of lays classic chips but love the baked ones. Wish they had more flavours," wrote another.

This person must be my kindred spirit: "Baked lays are the only good chips and I won't accept any other opinions. Normal lays and the other brand equivalents are gross to me after trying baked, and it's not a health thing. They are simply superior." Amen.

I truly don't understand why they get so much hate. They're like an elite Pringle. What's not to love?
