Birthday cake-flavored snacks have been all the rage for the past few years, and, according to Cerealously, the classic General Mills cereal is next to get in on the trend. With its rainbow speckles, the sugary breakfast looks a lot like Sprinkles Cookie Crisp, a sugar-cookie twist on the cereal, which hit stores a few years ago. This version promises to taste like birthday cake though, which sounds like it'd have a stronger vanilla, almost buttery-sweet flavor.

"It's definitely sweet — almost too sweet," Cereal Time TV vlogger Gabe said, who also noted it didn't have a very strong, cake-frosting flavor. (Though he also admitted he might not have the most discerning palate when it comes to detecting artificial cake flavor, so there's that.)

Cookie Crisp has been selling the same chocolate chip cookie-inspired flavor for ages now, and special-edition releases of the cereal have been few and far between. Not too many details about this new version have been released, but it should hit grocery store shelves any day now.
