Listen, it's cold AF outside. And cold weather is obviously something to be expected around this time of year, but with Nor'easters, blizzards, and "bomb cyclones" spending the better part of the winter unleashing their wrath on the east coast, it's completely understandable if you'd rather abandon your plans in favor of staying cozy in your humble abode. You might as well spend your time at home being productive — and, by productive, we mean doing what any other levelheaded individual would do and stream a bunch of cooking shows. Here's what you need to be binge-watching right this second.
1. Nailed It
If you're prone to kitchen disasters — specifically those that involve you epically failing at trying your hand at a Pinterest recipe — then Netflix's new show is just for you. Hosted by comedian Nicole Byers, the show focuses on amateur bakers attempting to recreate elaborate cakes for a chance to win $10,000. The six-episode first season will be available to stream on the platform on March 9.
2. Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives
Get ready to take a long and delicious trip to Flavortown with everyone's favorite spiky-haired host, Guy Fieri. Select episodes of Seasons 18-25 of Diner, Drive-Ins, and Dives are now available on Hulu, including mash-up episodes featuring the top restaurants in each state Fieri has visited.
3. Ugly Delicious
This show sees David Chang, chef and founder of Momofuku, traveling the world to explore how a certain food is made in differing regions, like pizza in Italy, New York, and Japan. All episodes of the first season are currently streaming on Netflix.
4. Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee
Originally a web series that premiered in 2012, the show made its way to Netflix in 2017. Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee follows Jerry Seinfeld as he gets together with special guests in each episode for a drive in a classic car, a cup of coffee, and a series of priceless and hilarious stories shared along the way.
5. Barefoot Contessa: Back to Basics
Thanks to Hulu, Food Network isn't the only place for you to get your Ina Garten fix. Seasons 8 and 9 of the show are now available to stream on the app.
6. Queer Eye
Okay, so this one isn't a food show necessarily, but each episode does see Fab Five member Antoni Porowski giving the men of the hour simple cooking lessons, so that has to count for something, right? I'll go ahead and give you a little disclaimer since there is a debate currently raging on the interwebs about whether or not he can actually cook. But you can stream all of the episodes on Netflix to decide for yourself.
7. Rotten
Careful — this one isn't for the faint of heart. This Netflix docu-series takes a look at corruption in the food world. You might want to take a look at it if you're curious about how the food you eat is brought to your table.
8. Beat Bobby Flay
Bobby Flay really likes to compete. You can watch old episodes of Iron Chef America or any episode of Throwdown with Bobby Flay if you need more evidence of that. His newest series — of which the first season is currently streaming on Hulu — is where Bobby's Dinner Battle and Throwdown meet. It sees two chefs competing to create dishes using ingredients handpicked by the celebrity chef before the winner advances to the competition's next round — and then they're tasked with going up against Flay himself.
9. The Wine Show
A show about wine ... what a time to be alive. Stream the first two seasons on Hulu now.
