When Mama June (a.k.a. June Shannon, in real life) opened up to People last spring, she had grand ideas about how maintaining her 300-pound weight loss. Back then, Shannon was all about keeping up her diet and exercise, but she's since adopted a few more techniques. Some aren't exactly doctor recommended.
She sleeps in.
In what's probably her least healthy habit, Mama June admitted to People that she stays in bed until well after noon when she can in order to avoid eating breakfast.
She's big on portion control.
Mama June's biggest gripe is trying to eat like she's "supposed to" constantly. She cheats occasionally — Little Debbie jelly cakes are her favorite — but indulges in moderation. The same goes for regular meals: "It's all about portion control for me," Shannon told People.

She's never forgets a weigh-in.
"I get on the scale religiously," Shannon told People. Many nutritionists say you should focus more on how you feel than obsess over a number on the scale, but Mama June thinks it helps her stay on track. Since losing 300-pounds post gastric sleeve surgery, she's only fluctuated by five pounds.
She keeps healthy recipes and swaps in her arsenal.
Kenya Crooks, Mama June's trainer, spilled on his now-size four client's snack swaps. She'll grab grapes and cheese instead of something like chips. Come dinnertime, she'll often have baked pork chops, corn, and beans, which she's referred to as a go-to.
She exercises regularly.
Crooks developed a strict workout regimen for Mama June. Since she wanted a quick weight loss — and something she could keep up — he focused on core moves, like elbow crunches and Russian twists. During her transformation, Crooks and Shannon worked out together three times a week, but now Shannon tries to keep it up on her own.
