Parents can tell you that dining with little picky eaters can make meals a challenge, from not liking a particular menu item to claiming they are not hungry, eating out becomes such a struggle. One local Maryland restaurant had a genius solution to solve that inevitable mealtime tantrum by creating a special kids' menu perfect for fussy eaters, Reddit user IWishItWouldSnow discovered.
This creative menu was designed by Fager's Island restaurant in Ocean City, Maryland, a "seafood and American classics" dining establishment located on the bay. In its "Kid Friendlies" menu section, the restaurant translates some common picky eater phrases into the meals they'll actually eat. Brilliant!
So, if your child says "I don't know" what to eat, atriple layer PB&J sandwich it is! Or if they simply "don't care," try a grilled peanut butter and banana sandwich.
For kids that proclaim, "I'm not hungry," Fager's offers a basket of chicken tenders. And if they just "don't want that," try some fries. And if all they can say is "what?" that translates to a cheese quesadilla.
Because, as one Reddit commenter pointed out, "'I'm not hungry' really means 'I'm not hungry until I see the food on the table and then I'll eat half of your meal.'"
Truth.
