Savvy HGTV viewers know that House Hunters is a little more staged than it lets on. For example, some participants have already closed on a house before they start filming. But what makes the show so addictive is the real-life personality quirks of the people on screen. Namely the insane expectations—and unrealistic budgets—the homebuyers bring to the entire process.
