When news broke in February that the parent company of T.J. Maxx and Marshalls would be opening a new home store, you could almost hear a collective gasp from shoppers across the country. Executives at TJX Cos., which also owns HomeGoods, announced their plan to "make [a store] distinct enough from HomeGoods that people will shop at both."
On Tuesday, People reports, CEO Ernie Herrman finally announced the name of the new store, along with a slew of other details about the opening. (Are you sitting down?)
HomeSense will debut its first brick and mortar in late summer, he said, followed by a few more stores due to open in the fall. He added: "HomeSense will offer consumers a different mix of home fashions from HomeGoods, but at the same grade value."
Herrman also shared that HomeSense stores will all open close to a HomeGoods, making it easy for visitors to shop at both.
No word yet on which lucky town will get the first HomeSense, but the website does already exist. (You can check it out here.) Can you guess what site we'll be checking every single day for the foreseeable future?!
