When a star's tour bus rider leaks, it tends to read like a five-year-old's wish list: jumbo packs of candy, 18 bottles of Gatorade, a mural of their face made from French fries. Country singer Brett Eldredge, who's currently on tour, has yet to have a rider leak, but when we caught up with him on the phone during a stop in his home state of Illinois, he assured us that kid in a candy store mentality is far from his truth. "My tour bus literally has nothing exciting on it," he laughed. We got the scoop on just what Eldredge eats to stay fit and healthy — and what he sneaks when he's in the mood to splurge.

He eats this one vegan dish almost every day.

Despite the fact that he's not vegan — he's not even vegetarian — Eldredge gets nutrients from plant-based sources whenever he can. He drinks a variation of the same protein shake almost daily, either for breakfast or after a workout. "I'll start with a protein shake mix, add in a little peanut butter powder, a banana, blueberries, and some almond milk," Eldredge said.

Brett spends more time at the salad table than the dessert one.

Just like you'd find craft services on a movie set, Eldredge's tour crew gets meals catered when they're on the road. The menus are preplanned, but when it's fried chicken day, the chefs will give Eldredge a healthier option, like grilled breasts. He's a big fan of their salads, too — couscous, quinoa, and kale are his favorites — but no matter how good the desserts look, he tends to skips them. "I try to be very disciplined when I'm on the road," he revealed.

Frozen yogurt is Brett's guilty pleasure.

But even this, what he considers his cheat eat, is insanely healthy. "I go for the mango flavor or peanut butter and chocolate, and top it with granola and fruit," he shared. And when you read how often Eldredge allows himself a cup of the stuff, you'll question all your life choices: "Once a month — maybe once every couple of weeks."

He has a hilarious healthy hack for Thai food.

It involves eating off his friends' plates. "As much as I love pad Thai, I never order it," he said. "I'll just try someone else's at the table!" To keep the Asian meal clean and green, Eldredge opts for curry dishes filled with protein and veggies.

There's only one time he'll eat fried food.

When Eldredge visits his hometown of Paris, IL, he makes sure to schedule a fishing trip with his childhood buddy. "We grew up fishing together, and when we catch something, we'll fry it up right there on the bank," he said. It's the rare occasion he opts for something that's fried over grilled or steamed. "It's nostalgic!" Eldredge said.

You've never seen anyone eat salsa the way Brett does.

Unlike the rest of America, Eldredge is not one to be swayed by a bowl of chips. "I just eat the salsa with a fork," he laughed.

He turned his after-tour shenanigans into a cooking show.

"My guitar player and I like to put on wigs and go out in the crowd after playing for 30,000 people," Eldredge shared. So when it came time to promote his Christmas album last year, the two decided to take the shtick online. Eldredge's guitar player played his aunt, and together, they butchered tasks like roasting a holiday turkey and making festive cookies. Fans will be happy to know they're planning to bring it back again this December. "We've got a few more wigs to show off," he said.
