There's nothing worse in life than finally getting a bottle of wine at the end of a long day and realizing you don't have a bottle opener. It's so close, yet so far away. But instead of tugging on the cork in desperation (or just having a full on meltdown), you might want to try one of these more practical alternatives. A new YouTube video gives wine bottle opening hacks, and some of them are so obvious, you'll be surprised you hadn't thought of them sooner. And the others? Well...maybe let's just say, don't try them at home.
With a Knife
DUH. *face palm*. Just put the knife in sideways and twist it around until the cork starts to come up, and then you can just pull it over with your fingers. Easy as pie.
With a Screw
This one is a little less obvious, but still practical. Twist a screw down into the cork, then slide a fork underneath the head of the screw and use leverage to pop it up. Poppin' bottles with a fork ...
With a Hammer
Hammer the nails in, then use the back of the hammer to pull the cork up.
With Scissors
Put one end of the scissors all the way through the cork, then twist the bottle and pull out the scissors.
With a Key
Jam your key in sideways, twist, and it'll lift right out. And you always have keys, so you can open a bottle of wine literally ANYWHERE.
And then the don't-try-these-at-home hacks...
With a Torch
Because we all have a spare blow torch lying around. NBD. It's casual.
With an Air Compressor Hose
When they specify this hack requires safety glasses, you probably don't want to try it at home.
With a Shoe
Again, the necessity of a glove turns me off to this one, plus you might not want to put a bottle in a shoe and consistently bang it against the wall without having the alcohol in your system to lessen the blow that will no doubt fall upon your fingers.

Cheers to never letting a bottle of wine go unopened again.
