Tailgating treats tend to get a little crazy. This fall alone we've seen touchdowns like Frito pie in a jar and personalized Jell-O shots for every NFL team. And just when we thought we'd finally hit peak game-day food, in comes a creation that just might be this season's MVP.

These Philly cheesesteak donuts (yes, DONUTS) are loaded with certified Angus rib-eye, caramelized onions, and a sweet pepper relish fondue. Dreamt up by chef Darryl Harmon of Manhattan's upscale sports lounge, Slate, the savory snack finds inspiration in both the Big Apple and the City of Brotherly Love. Harmon, who worked in Philadelphia for five years, landed on this mashup after he quickly discovered that "New Yorkers love a good spin on a donut" (see: the Cronut, Sriracha donuts). Thus, these bite-sized, savory beignets were born.

In addition to this flavor bomb, Slate is serving an array of kooky creations for its Undefeated Sundays football promotion, including pizza topped with Cheetos and jalapeno-cheddar corn dog lollipops. Unfortunately, they're only available in New York. But if you aren't able to make it out East before the Super Bowl, worry not: You can find loads of great tailgating food all around the country.
