I'm calling it now, everyone: It's going to be an Indian summer. So while we may be moving straight into September, the higher temps aren't going anywhere—and neither is my craving for ice cream. Specifically, Wendy's glorious Frosty that I can dip a side of fries into.
The only problem is my, err, waistline. It's not such a big fan of the Frosty, and too many of them makes it expand a smidge bigger than I'd like. So I was on the hunt for a healthier version that didn't take away the taste I loved oh-so-much.
And by golly, guys, I found it. The recipe was hiding out on Pinterest, which led me to this website. Not only is the homemade version easy to hack—you only need a blender and five ingredients—but it eliminates a crazy amount of calories. Just like I did with these healthy peanut butter cups, I took to MyFitnessPal's nutrition calculator to figure out the difference.
Yes, you're seeing that correctly. There's only 90 calories and 3 grams of fat in this sucker, while a small classic chocolate Frosty has 340 calories and 9 grams of fat. Major savings right there. And yes, the sugar count for this drink is still a little high, but that's mostly coming from naturally-occurring sugars in the banana, rather than added sugar (which we know is no bueno). Plus, we're always of the mindset that you should #TreatYourself.
