In a video clip gone deservedly viral, somewhat-cruel parent and stunt videographer Jeff Simmons wrapped up an avocado (in Christmas-themed gift wrap, no less) as one of the presents given to his son on his birthday and then filmed the reaction as it was revealed. Simmons later explained it as a teachable moment, designed to enforce a lecture given earlier in the day on remaining grateful even when that relative or family friend gives you sports equipment even when you specifically requested Dream Phone and the new Spice Girls album — OK, I'm projecting here but the point is there's always someone who goes gift-list rogue.
And it turns out this little kid has the acting chops to pull off the cutest thank you regardless (granted, the thanks does tail off in a tone that's perfectly bemused/sassy). We all do love avocados though, so it could be genuine gratitude.
