We're obsessed with Chipotle and frankly, most people are. Despite this, the company has recently seen a loss in popularity, but they have a plan to win us back: Free burritos. For a year. And it's arrived just in time for the glorious return of carnitas.
This morning the chain announced the launch of Friend or Faux, a game that will provide Chipotle fans with ingredient info and direct comparisons to other fast food restaurants.
All those who participate in the game will be entered into a national sweepstakes and 50 grand prize winners will walk away with free Chipotle for themselves—and a friend!—for an entire year. Yep, you read that right. Those lucky taco lovers will get to live in a world where the guac isn't extra.
If you don't end up being among the burrito blessed, there's still hope: First-prize winners will win a catered party for 20 people, a.k.a. one very crazy Tex-Mex shindig with your BFFs. That is, if you can bring yourself to share.
UPDATE: August 7, 11:40 a.m.
If the opportunity to eat burritos for an entire year wasn't enough incentive to click through Chipotle's latest stunt, according to NBC Chicago the now-live game is guaranteeing all players a killer BOGO deal. To play, visit Friend or Faux's website and click through the game (it takes less than five minutes), no downloads required. After you've finished, enter your name and phone number and within 7 days you'll receive a buy one get one coupon via text, valid for anything under $10 on their menu. The game expires on August 31st, so get the deal while you still can.
