Americans have a major sweet tooth. So much so that ice cream was recently picked as our favorite summer food, beating out burgers, corn on the cob, and even ribs. In a survey conducted by Harris Poll in June, two out of three Americans say the frozen treat is their top pick for summer snacking and we are twice as likely to choose it over pie.
This news has spectacular timing because July is National Ice Cream Month. As much as we love grilled corn and juicy burgers, we are 100 percent unsurprised by these results. We've known for quite some time that ice cream is literally the best warm-weather refresher and we'd like to take a minute to tell you why:
It makes bacon better, not the other way around.
You can make a homemade no-churn version with just two ingredients.
It's a vehicle for strange yet addictive flavors, like olive oil and chocolate-cayenne.
And ube a.k.a purple yam.
Who hasn't polished off a pint of Ben and Jerry's?
And then read up on how cool the brand is.
