McDonald's is definitely cashing in on customers looking for idyllic summer vibes this season, first by adding a pulled pork sandwich to its menu to channel those quintessential backyard barbecues. Now the chain is offering a lobster roll to recreate a sun-soaked shoreside feel. But you'll only be able to find the summery sandwich at participating locations throughout New England.
Made with all North Atlantic lobster, mixed with mayonnaise and layered with lettuce on a toasted roll, the lobster roll is somehow only going for $7.99. (Most restaurants' lobster roll prices range from $15 to $25.) So it's definitely a deal for those looking to indulge in the rich shellfish on a budget. Plus, it clocks in at just 290 calories. No word on how long the special will last, so we suggest ordering the limited-time menu item sooner than later.
The nautical number also marks the first time in a decade that New England outposts have offered a seafood special. "The return of the Lobster Roll is exciting because we have had requests for it every summer," Nicole Garvey, a Mcdonald's spokesperson in the Boston area, told Fox Connecticut. "We're thrilled to offer a regional favorite at a great value."
