Eaters must finish every drop of ice cream, even the melted part that falls in the tray, completely by themselves, and they must do it faster than the current winning time (the time to beat is capped at 30 minutes). The Tchoupitoulas is a sundae made with eight scoops of ice cream of the competitor's choice served with whipped cream, cherries and wafers. If the eater finishes every last bite of ice cream, their name goes down in the Tchoupitoulas Hall of Fame.

Sundae Summit Challenge at Appalachian Trail Café

Millinocket, ME

What better meal to have after a long hike than a 4 1/2-pound sundae? Designed to celebrate the completion of the trail, this treat starts with a banana, then 14 scoops of ice cream (one for each state the Appalachian Trail crosses), a Snickers candy bar, a handful of M&M's, and an Appalachian Trail Cafe's famous doughnut. The sundae is topped with chocolate syrup, whipped cream and cherries. Challengers have to finish the sundae in one sitting and if the do, they get a free t-shirt, a picture on the Wall of Fame and a free sticker.

On August 14 from 12 pm to 1 pm all ice cream lovers will congregate to see who is truly the king or queen of dairy. Thirty contestants will race to see who can finish a pint of ice cream the fastest and the winner takes home an ice cream scoop trophy and free Graeter's ice cream for a year.

The Rocky Top Challenge at It's All So Yummy

Knoxville, TN

This challenge eats other ice cream challenges for dessert. Eaters have just one hour to conquer The Rocky Top Challenge, which stipulates that one person must finish 16 scoops of ice cream, three brownies, three bananas, chocolate syrup, caramel, candied orange slices, whipped cream, mini marshmallows, sugar cone pieces, marshmallow cream, orange sprinkles and a surprise ingredient. If you can finish all of it, the $50 sundae is free of charge and you get your picture on the Wall of Fame with other ice cream champions such as Peyton Manning and Phillip Fulme.

Farrell's annual charity ice cream eating challenge benefitting CHOC Children's an Make- A- Wish is back for its sixth year, and to enter you must donate a minimum of $20, which gets you a free t-shirt and $5 off your next purchase. Then you must eat a qualifying 3-scoop sundae as fast as possible. The fastest eaters in each category will be called back to compete in the championship at the Farrell's in Brea, CA. The final competitors go spoon-to-spoon to see who finishes a 6-scoop Pig's Trough sundae the fastest. The winner gets free ice cream for a year and a trophy. There's also a separate contest to see if someone can eat a Farrell's Famous Zoo Sundae faster than professional food eater Naader "Freak8r" Reda." Located in a historic building, this shop dishes up a sundae that weighs in at 4 pounds and contains 12 scoops of Dr. Jazz's thick ice cream (which must be three different flavors), two different sauce toppings, nuts, whipped cream and cherries. The entire sundae must be finished in under 30 minutes to win a free meal, a free shirt and your picture on the Wall of Fame.
