Last month booze experts told us that there is an impending worldwide shortage of Prosecco, Italy's smooth sparkling wine, because of a poor harvest last year. Now, to add insult to our not-so-imbibed injury, thousands of bottles have been recalled for randomly exploding and shattering in the U.K.

But before you toss a precious bottle of bubbly, check the label: The brand affected by this strange phenomenon is the Wine Society's Duecentro Prosecco Brut, which retails for about $12. While no customers have been hurt, there have been multiple reports of bottles shattering in the vino club members' wine racks. To avoid future injuries, the Wine Society is warning customers with both emails and mailed letters.

If you're a fizz-lover, we suggest stocking up on the safe stuff now. Worst case scenario is you have to whip up some next-level mimosas one morning to make a dent in your stash.
