You've heard about Olive Garden's brilliant idea to turn their breadsticks into buns for sandwiches, which became available the first week of June, but now there's more good news on the breadstick bun-front: a cross-country food truck tour.
The big OG launched four trucks on a seven-week venture–dubbed "Breadstick Nation"–to visit 20 cities nationwide, offering free samples of the two new signature sandwiches. FYI, both the Italian Meatball Sandwich and the Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich come with garlic parmesan fries, your choice of soup or salad, and – wait for it – unlimited breadsticks. First stops on the tour include New York City, Arizona, Utah, and Florida, but you can track the trucks online by following OG on social media or by visiting BreadstickNation.com.
This BreadstickNation site is the mother loaf load for breadstick enthusiasts. Fans can check out more breadstick recipes, vote on potential Olive Garden menu items, and, later this month, submit their own culinary creations incorporating the iconic garlic sticks. If your breadstick love is out of control—and admission is the first step—be sure to tweet or Instagram all your feels using the hashtags #BreadstickNation and #sweeps. One lucky dough-devotee who does so will win free lunch for a year. Holla!
If you can't be bothered to stalk an Olive Garden food truck, you can satisfy your cravings by visiting your local OG and actually paying for one of the sandwiches, which start at $6.99.
But, then you lose out on the opportunity to make a "bread rolls" pun to everyone around you waiting in the food truck line, and that seems like a real shame.
