We've ALL been there. You're at home, watching TV and it hits — a McDonalds French fry craving. Who knows where it comes from? However, if you're anything like us, you can't quite muster the energy to satisfy the craving every time it hits. Luckily, McDonalds understands our plight and is launching a delivery service to bring us our fries STAT.
Following Chipotle's lead, McDonald's is trying out delivery via Postmates, a direct-consumer delivery service. Starting today, customers in select parts of New York City can order from McDonald's full menu (except ice cream cones) and have it delivered right to their door within an hour.
"This is a city where delivery is a way of life," Mwaffak Kanjee, vice president, general manager of the McDonald's New York Metro region, said in a press release. "We are excited to launch this test so our customers can get hot, freshly prepared food right from McDonald's kitchens, when and where they want it."
There are 88 locations in Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn participating in the test. Certain locations will even offer 24-hour delivery for when that fry craving hits during late night. As is standard with Postmates, there is an upcharge for your laziness, so be prepared.
