For more than a year, the world has gone nuts for the unbelievably delicious Cronut™, created by Dominique Ansel. Now, according to a thread on Reddit, fast food restaurant Jack in the Box has joined on the Cronut™ bandwagon and is testing its own version of the dessert, Croissant Donuts.
Those who can't make it out to New York City and brave the long Dominique Ansel Bakery line can simply hop in their car and drive through to pick up a fast food version for less than a third of the cost of the original. Each croissant-doughnut hybrid sells for 89¢, versus $5 for the original, at select Jack in the Box locations.
