A Colorado man would probably like to see a skull and crossbones across the cups at his local 7-Eleven to alert customers that their coffee, in his mind, is poisonous. Instead, he's posting warning signs around his neighborhood.
Dave Dugan told CBS Denver that he consumed a cup of coffee from a Lakewood 7-Eleven, only to shortly feel his lips burning, his chest burning, and his taste buds go numb. After speaking with a store manager, Dugan believes the coffee contained chemical cleansers from Patco 155, which the manager explained is used to clean out the coffeemaker. "He told me this had happened before and it confirmed all my worst nightmares," Dugan said to CBS. Another woman told CBS that she, too, thought their coffee tasted funny. However, other stores' managers said that their 3-step cleaning process does not include the powerful substance Dugan named.
