Star Wars fans will soon be able to experience the world George Lucas dreamed up in a whole new way onboard the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. While the immersive hotel and attraction doesn't have an exact opening date just yet, Disney Parks' Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman Bob Chapek did share a bunch of new details about the space at this weekend's D23 Expo that will make any Star Wars devotee want to start planning a trip to Orlando.

First things first: The ship is called the Halcyon, and it will be housed at the Disney World Resort in Florida. Visitors check in for the night as a group, similar to how Disney Cruise Line trips operate. Once onboard the Starcruiser—which looks like a spaceship from the outside, as shown in the rendering below—guests will get to live out all their Star Wars fantasies while hanging out with characters from the movies, learning how to wield a lightsaber, and visiting the Starcruiser’s bridge to learn how the ship works.

As soon as guests board the ship, they're taken to a "Launch Pod" that simulates lift-off into space. Throughout the stay, windows make it look like the ship is actually cruising through the sky with constant views of galaxies far, far away.

To be clear, this is meant to be a destination, not a pop-in stop along the way—visitors stay overnight in cabins and are treated to onboard dining, including access to The Silver C Lounge, a "warm and inviting retreat for passengers of all ages," per the Disney Parks Blog. Guests will get to go into the new Star Wars Galaxy's Edge park on a "port day," too, Insider reports.

Details on how big the space will be and how much it will cost have yet to be revealed but we'll keep you posted once when we know more. In the meantime, we'll be daydreaming about what space-themed outfit to wear onboard while practicing our light saber skills.
