It’s confirmed! Over the summer, rumors began circulating that Post Consumer Brands was going to release a Hostess Twinkies cereal, and we can finally say that it’s happening.

Beginning in December, you’ll be able to find Twinkies cereal at Walmart. The flavor is meant to replicate the golden cake that you know from the classic snack. Unfortunately, the cereal pieces won’t be filled with cream like their original counterpart, but we’re excited to try it nonetheless.

This isn’t the first time the two brands have put their minds together all in the name of breakfast. You can get Donettes and Honey Bun cereal, so Twinkies completes this trifecta!

Twinkies have become so much more than the classic spongey snack. Now there is Twinkies-flavored coffee, a Twinkies dessert kit, and creamiscle-flavored Twinkies. Next up? Twinkies cereal! Thanks to Hostess teaming up with Post Consumer Brands, you can get the treat in cereal form.

It was earlier this year that we got Honey Bun and Donettes cereals, so it makes sense that next up would be the popular Twinkies. The news was first brought to life by Reddit user YukiHase. The caption “Oh my god” sums up exactly what we immediately thought, as well.

As one commenter pointed out, the cereal looks like vanilla cheese puffs. You’d think that the little puffs would be filled with some sort of crème, like actual Twinkies, but that’s yet to be confirmed.

There’s no word from Post when the cereal will hit shelves (or even if it’s officially happening), but we’ll keep you in the loop, because we’re just as excited as you are!
