In our new series, Flashback Fridays, we take a look at our favorite blast-from-the-past foods—still living, some long dead. Cue the nostalgia.

Alright folks, I'm here to talk to you about something near and dear to my heart: Strawberries and Creme Creme Savers. Who among us alive in the early 2000s didn't occasionally swipe one of these sweet, creamy little suckers from our grandma's/teacher's/co-worker's/parent's candy dish? Who didn't smile when they quite literally melted in your mouth, only to feel a tiny bit of sadness when it finally fully dissolved? This was a hallmark of the early aughts. We had Strawberries and Creme candies to enjoy. And then, a yogurt made to taste just like the candy. It was a simpler time.

We also had the orange ones, but they were simply not as good, and are not the point of this ode to candy. The real question is, what happened to these little strawberry gems?! Somewhere along the lines (the date is fuzzy, but it seems like 2012/2013 is around the time people started asking for their return), they were phased out. Miraculously, and oddly, there are some available on Amazon through a seller called PJ's Deals, but I question how long they've been on a shelf, ya know?

And sure, there are copycats that have tried to take it's place. But gone are the days when you could walk into a drugstore and pick up a bag of individually wrapped Creme Savers, or a sleeve of them to slowly but surely eat through (who am I kidding, those never lasted long). Now, we're stuck with the donut-hole-shaped fruity life savers, sans cream. They're fine. They serve a purpose. But they're just not the same. And they're definitely not as good.

@Mars Wrigley—I'm not alone here! See below for proof. Give the people what they want...pretty please?

I do, Cranny Boy, I do.
