Ole & Steen is a new-ish NYC bakery specializing in Danish pastry. Sure, that means they have plenty of gorgeous marzipan puffs, ølander breads, and there are copenhageners aplenty, but it also means they are masters in the art of cinnamon. Cinnamon swirls, that is.
What's special about their cinnamon pastries, though, is that you have the option to get them iced with either chocolate or vanilla frosting—something that's generally not an option in other places. They're also a thinner, more solid swirl than most, which means they're easier to put down, but, more importantly, easier to stack into a gigantic tower of cinnamon-laden magnificence.
Enter: this tower. It's not something the bakery usually offers, nor will you see it on menus any time soon, but it is something they're capable of, and, boy, is it good. Might I suggest it's even DIY-your-own-wedding-cake good?
