Remember those cute-as-hell photos of Meghan Markle's dad, Thomas Markle, reading about London ahead of his big trip there? That precious moment was allegedly totally staged! THE HORROR!

The Daily Mail reports — quite sensationally, but what's new — on the news that Thomas allegedly staged those adorable photos and sold them for over $100,000. Dang! Get paid, Mr. Markle!

So, a few things:

1. Grain of salt because it's The Daily Mail, and they're, you know, The Daily Mail.

2. Wow, even if true, Meghan shouldn't be forced to deal with this LESS THAN A WEEK UNTIL HER WEDDING.

3. Um, good on him for making that money?! Gotta love that American entrepreneurial spirit! We're a country of doers, my friends. We make that money when we can make that money, and there's no need to apologize for it! If we're gonna live in a capitalist hellscape, might as well exploit it just like everyone else — including The Daily Mail!

4. Cosmpolitan.com totally bought that photo of Meghan's dad reading the book, so we are complicit in this charade! LOL. Also, I have no regrets and would do it again because it's a straight up CRAZY ADORABLE PHOTO and mad props to Thomas for giving the people what they want!

And finally:

5. Uhhh... I'm pretty sure The Daily Mail bought hell of those photos, too! Reminder to them: The media is why the whole "scam" existed in the first place, and their faux-outrage is tired, contrived, and very, very goofy.

AND FINALLY, I hope that both Meghan and Thomas have the loveliest time on her big day, and hey, maybe send us some photos? (JK JK JK!)
