A few weeks ago I was scrolling through my instagram when I came across a Trader Joe’s advertisement for Coconut Aminos. “What the heck are coconut aminos?” I thought to myself. Are they sweet? Are they savory? Do I put it on my food? Do I put them in my hair? I was very confused, so I did some research.

It turns out, Coconut Aminos are basically a miracle sauce made from coconut sap. (Milk, water, oil, what CAN’T coconuts do?!) It basically acts as soy sauce, but it’s way better for you. First of all, it’s soy free, gluten free, and paleo, which makes it a great choice for those with dietary restrictions of all sorts. Secondly, it’s much lower than sodium, and packs in a whopping 17 amino acids, making it all-around better for you than it’s soy counterpart.
