Ordering lemon water at a restaurant is going cost you pretty soon — at least at one restaurant. According to Eater, New Orleans restaurant Hippie Kitchen is throwing a price tag on its lemon water. But don't panic just yet. You'll only be charged if you order hot lemon water, a staple on the restaurant's menu.
Hippie Kitchen is a health-conscious restaurant serving up sandwiches and wraps, breakfast burritos, avocado toast, and more meals that'll more than likely look amazing on your Instagram feed.
Hot lemon water is known to boast more than a few health benefits, like boosting your immune system, detoxifying your body, and balancing your body's pH, among other things. Hippie Kitchen's hot lemon water will set you back $2.49.
The restaurant isn't the first to do so. In 2016, a British café made headlines after a customer's one-star review — in light of being charged for a cup of hot water with a slice of lemon — led to a clapback from the store's owner.
