Attention lactose intolerant fans of chips and dip and anyone allergic to milk: You should check your pantry to make sure you don't have a bag of Tostitos laying around. Frito-Lay issued a recall of its 13 oz. Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips for containing an undeclared milk allergen.

The affected bags may include nacho cheese tortilla chips and, according to a press release issued by the company, "those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious of life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product."

Luckily, the affected products weren't distributed nationwide, but they were dispersed to retail stores and e-commerce distributors in Alabama, Illinois, Indiana, Georgia, Kentucky, Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, Mississippi, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and South Carolina. The bags in question have a guaranteed fresh date of May 20, 2025, so they are likely still sitting on store or home shelves.

This is not the first recall due to undeclared milk allergens for the Frito-Lay brand this year. Back in January, the company issued a Class I recall of Lay's Classic Potato Chips.

It's a trend we're seeing more and more in recent months—a chocolate recall earlier this year turned heads, and overall, recalls seem to be on the rise.
