Panera is updating its menu to offer more items like their new flatbreads and is taking these updates to a new level in select markets. A pilot beer and wine program is coming to Panera restaurants in Kansas City and here's hoping it sees enough success to become a nationwide offer.
Five Panera locations in Kansas City will be a part of the Panera Tonight: Beer, Wine & Dine program. In partnership with Boulevard Brewing Co. and Ménage à Trois Wines, the specified Panera restaurants will offer beer and wine to guests from 4 p.m. to close. The program first started rolling out on October 28 and will make its way to the five testing spots in the coming weeks.
Drink options will include a Pale Ale, an Unfiltered Wheat Beer, and a Quirk Spiked & Sparkling Strawberry Lemon & Basil seltzer from Boulevard Brewing Co. and Ménage à Trois’ Red Blend, Gold Chardonnay, and Limelight Pinot Grigio, so beer drinkers and wine lovers will all be satisfied. Additionally, until November 17, Panera will offer these alcoholic options for just half price.
The beverages will range from $4 to $6, which is a great deal to tack onto your usual Panera food order. Marketing Manager for Pan American Group Rebecca Diefendorf said in press materials that the pilot program is a way for Panera to be a staple for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
“We are delighted to expand our evening offerings to customers through partnerships with Boulevard Brewing Co. and Ménage à Trois Wines,” she said: “Panera offers delicious food all day long. Now you can start your morning with coffee and bagel and end the day with wine and a flatbread pizza. It doesn’t get better than that.
