Every Starbucks Holiday Cup Over The Last 20 Years

Originally designed by Sandy Nelson, the 1997 holiday cups featured a swirl pattern with coffee beans and were made in four colours: magenta...

Violet...

Blue...

And green. The holiday drinks at the time were Eggnog Lattes and Christmas Blend brewed coffee.

The following year, Starbucks ran with the whole purple thing and added some pretty snowflakes.

But in 1999, the design team settled on the 'candy apple red' that customers have come to associate with Christmas at Starbucks. "There was a response to that shade of red," the Creative Design manager at that time said. "It was a joyous colour, and it really resonated with customers."

In 2000, Gingerbread Lattes made their debut, and they did so in these cute, crafty "Coffeetown" cups.

Enter the White Chocolate Mocha, in the Starbucks Christmas cup that also looked like a present.

2001 also had a sweet stamp design.

Cute illustrations covered the cups in 2002.

The 2003 cup had a delicate snowflake design.

Remember when the Starbucks wreath was made to look like a Christmas wreath? Adorbs.

We LOVE the pretty fairy lights decorating the rim of the cup on this design.

This traditional cup design features cut-out paper men in a wintry scene.

For the holiday cup's 10th anniversary, Starbucks celebrated with a magical snowy scene.

The 2008 cup reminds us of a knitted Christmas jumper and we heart it.

The Caramel Brulée Latte made its debut in this Christmassy cup.

The 2010 modern Christmas cups were a bit of a change from the previous 10 years.
