Adding French fries to burritos is nothing new — just ask anyone from California — but when Taco Bell added them to the menu this January, you'd think they sparked a drunk-food revolution. It isn't just Twitter hype, either. As much as the fries have sparked buzz online (including Blink-182 frontman Mark Hoppus's debate last fall), the sales numbers are behind it: These seasoned fries with a side of queso are the most successful launch in company history, surpassing Doritos Locos tacos, a representative for Taco Bell told us.

Roughly one out of every three people have bought them since the fries hit restaurants on Jan. 25, amounting to 53 million orders. Yet most of us are ordering them just as they appear on the menu: As-is, for a $1, or loaded up with toppings as a Nacho Fries BellGrande or Nacho Fries Supreme. In short, we're doing it wrong.

Turns out, you can add fries to any item on Taco Bell's menu for an extra 49 cents. We repeat: You can add fries to ANYTHING for roughly the cost of a jumbo gumball. Taco Bell shared its top five dishes people have upgraded with fries, which might inspire your lunch, dinner, or fourth-meal plans.

1. Beefy Loaded 5 — Make That 6 — Layer Burrito

Why stop at beef, cheese, nacho cheese sauce, sour cream, and refried beans when you can have the starchy crunch of French fries too?! Pro move: Sub the sour cream for Spicy Ranch and add jalapeño peppers for a Jalapeño Popper-esque burrito. It's worth the upcharge. Trust.

2. Nacho Fries Crunchwrap

Fair warning: Once you add fries to your Crunchwrap, there's no going back to the regular 'wrap. Ever.

3. Nacho Fries Bean Burrito

Mix up the textures in an otherwise-mushy bean burrito with some crispy fries. Do it.

4. Nacho Fries Quesarito

You need extra carbs to offset all that cheese.

5. The 7-Turned-8-Layer Burrito

Once you've managed to stuff a tortilla with refried beans, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, guac, rice, and fries, it's all too tempting to see just how many layers you can go before that wrapper explodes. The Taco Bell employees may hate you for it, but there's something satisfying about crushing a 10-layer burrito ... in that whole food-coma-inducing sort of way.

At this point, the question becomes: What isn't better Nacho Fries-ified? Steak quesadillas? Sure. Gordita Supremes? Why not? Skittles Slushies? Okay, pass. The limit does exist.
