Cupcakes may have reached peak trendiness in the early 2010s, but that's not stopping Hostess from celebrating 2018 with its own CupCake Craze. If the recent string of 90s revivals are any indication, there's always room for a comeback. As part of the celebration, they're releasing the iconic Hostess CupCake in three new flavors.
With St. Patrick's Day around the corner and Girl-Scout season in full swing, mint chocolate chip flavors are everywhere, and Hostess is adding its own version to the mix. Theirs features chocolate cake with a creamy mint filling, all topped with green frosting and that signature white squiggle.
The brand's also bringing back the Strawberry CupCake, a sweet strawberry cake stuffed with plain filling and topped with pink frosting. It's been released as a limited-edition flavor before, along with other fruity combos, like Dark Chocolate Raspberry and Chocolate-Covered Strawberry.
The ones we're most excited about, though, are Sea Salt Caramel. They could easily be sugar overload, but with caramel-iced yellow cake, caramel cream filling, and sea salt topping, they still sound worth a try.
All three limited-edition flavors are available now in stores nationwide. Find them next to Hostess' three permanent flavors: Chocolate, Golden, and Orange.
