If you and your beloved are big fans of breakfast, you need to head to Las Vegas this Valentine's Day. Especially, if you're ready to get hitched.
This February 14, couples can tie the knot in the Denny's chapel for less than a hundred bucks. The $99 ceremony fee includes a silk presentation bouquet and boutonniere, a champagne toast, and a ceremony certificate. For an additional fee, couples can also order the Pancake Puppies, which look like cake pops but are filled with mini pancakes.
While the V-Day special is new, this tradition has been going on since 2013, when Denny's first opened its Vegas chapel. Apparently the Las Vegas wedding tradition is still alive and well, and even more so around Valentine's Day.
According to the Clark County Marriage Licensing Bureau, more than 1,500 marriage licenses are issued in the county during the days leading up to and on Valentine's Day. That's about twice as many licenses as are issued during a non-holiday period, the Bureau said. And while you could go the Elvis route, getting married surrounded by diner foods sure is unique.
A Denny's wedding ceremony typically costs $199, and includes extra frills like use of the photo booth, a Wedding Pancake Puppies Cake, two wedding t-shirts, and a coupon for two Grand Slams on your next visit to Denny's.
The first couple to get married in the chapel, Nancy Levandowski and Steven Keller, pictured below, did so in 2013. According to the Iowa State Daily, it was the second wedding for both of them and they wanted it to be different and fun. Since they both work in the food industry, getting married at a restaurant made sense.
To reserve a spot at the Denny's chapel this Valentine's Day, Denny's fans can fill out this application. For those already married or not into the legalities, you can also purchase the package as a vow renewal or commitment ceremony.
