Pizza may not be the first thing that comes to mind when vegan eaters are sorting through their dinner options, but Pizza Hut is hoping to change that pretty soon. The U.K. branch of the pizza chain recently announced that the restaurant would be rolling out pizzas topped with nondairy cheese by the end of the month.

The nondairy cheese in question is made by Violife, a Vegan food producer based in Greece. For the last few months, Pizza Hut has been testing out pizzas with Violife cheese in a handful of stores throughout England. After a successful run and a seemingly good response from customers, the restaurant is finally introducing the new menu item at locations nationwide.

"After an amazing customer response to our vegan cheese trial earlier this year, we're pleased to announce that the dairy-free alternative will now be served in all of our restaurants nationwide and feature as a permanent fixture on our menus," Pizza Hut's head of communications, Gareth Hopley, said in a statement. And Hopley isn't the only one excited about the new addition. According to some reactions from Twitter users, vegan pizza at Pizza Hut has been a long time coming.

In addition to being excited, other users fear that the new pizza option might spell trouble for their clean eating habits.

And, of course, there were others who were (understandably) a little bitter about the change.

U.K. customers can expect to be able to order nondairy pizzas beginning on November 29. If all goes well, hopefully Pizza Hut will consider bringing the new topping to the states.
