Papa John's has been getting plenty of attention this week after its owner, John Schnatter, blamed the company's slow sales on the player protests happening within the NFL (and after the truly important discovery of his celebrity doppelgΓ€ngers). While Twitter obviously had lots of opinions about this, the best response came from another pizza company.

DiGiorno, the frozen pizza brand that's been in a feud with Papa John's for quite some time, came for Papa John's with one semi-cryptic tweet:

It only took four words riffing off Papa John's slogan to make it perfectly clear who the tweets were directed toward.

Just to egg 'em on a little more, DiGiorno followed up with this tweet, and according to Eater, changed its Twitter bio to "Better Pizza. Better Sales. It's DiGiorno."

It took Papa John's a minute to collect its thoughts, but they eventually came back swinging. While the brand stayed out of DiGiorno's mentions, they did briefly change their Twitter bio to "Frozen pizza = the equivalent of a participation trophy." That was apparently too harsh, as it was then changed to this slightly less obvious dig:

Meanwhile, DiGiorno has toned down their Twitter bio as well.

It seems the fight is over for now, though we wouldn't be surprised if either brand came back for more.
