First they're sour, then they're ... spicy? Word on the street is that Sour Patch Kids is rolling out a new "Fire" flavor that packs a lot of heat.
The new flavor was spotted by food blogger, Candy Hunting, who shared a photo of the candy via Instagram. Not only was Candy Hunting able to get a little sneak peek at the snack, but the junk food lover was also able to taste test it at the National Association for Convenience Stores show this past weekend. According to the photo's caption, the sour-then-sweet candies "taste like normal Sour Patch Kids, but then there's a tiny kick of heat in the aftertaste."
If you're not a fan of foods that pack in a lot of heat, don't run in the other direction just yet. It's not exactly clear what type of heat to expect from the new candy but there's a good chance that, once the sour flavor wears off, the gummies will taste more like cinnamon Red Hots than an actual chili pepper.
Still, we can't wait to get our hands on these. Sour Patch Kids hasn't announced a date on which the fiery new candy will be released but, according to Candy Hunting, they'll be available soon.
