Taking trips to the grocery store is so 2016, and thanks to Walmart's newest idea, you might be able to restock your fridge without even leaving your couch. Seriously. The retail giant is testing out a new service that will not only allow you to have fresh groceries delivered to your door, but also have them brought directly to your kitchen.

"What if we created a service that not only did my grocery shopping and brought everything to my home, but even went so far as to put it directly into my fridge?" Sloan Eddleston, Walmart's VP of eCommerce strategy and business operations wrote in a news release. "And, what if it was even more convenient because this 'in-fridge delivery' happened while I was at work or off doing other things?"

According to a Walmart spokesperson, the company recently partnered with August, a security company that creates keyless locks that you can monitor on your phone. Customers can place orders for their groceries online, and if they opt to have them delivered, a driver from Deliv — a same-day delivery company — picks up the items to bring to the customer's home. In the event that no one answers the door, the driver will receive a one-time passcode that allows them entry into the home. The customer on the other hand will receive a notification on their smart phone at the time of the delivery and will be given the option to watch the entire delivery process via security cameras. Once everything is said and done, the door will lock automatically behind the delivery driver.

It's a game-changing idea for sure, but not everyone is on board just yet.

It's understandable for people to be a little hesitant about the idea at first, but considering how life-changing this is, we're betting people will be obsessed in no time.
