After last summer's wildly successful limited-edition "Unicorn Kisses" seltzer, Polar is releasing three more mythically-inspired seltzer flavors today as part of their "Impossibly Good Polar Seltzer" project.
Mermaid Songs, Dragon Whispers and Yeti Mischief will all be available in eight-ounce junior can six packs at select stores for a limited time while supplies last.
"In the spirit of corporate transparency, the origin of each of these new seltzers is noted on the packaging," Polar told Western Mass News. "Sources within the company confirm that all are New England natives. From the tree-tops of the Green Mountains to Cape Cod's coastline, these beautiful creatures are finally getting their due."
According to Boston Magazine, Yeti Mischief "tastes just like Hawaiian Punch … only not so sweet. And tangy. And also citrusy," while Dragon Whispers "reveals notes of strawberry, and perhaps some tropical fruits. Pineapple, maybe?" As for Mermaid Songs? They gave it a resounding "thumbs down," saying it "smells and tastes like a cross between Sour Patch Kids and Swedish Fish." But considering those are two of my favorite candies, it sounds good IMO.
Unicorn Kisses will also return to stores today, so if you couldn't get your hands on it last year (and refuse to pay up to $80 on eBay for a bottle) you still have a chance.
While Polar hasn't released an official list of which stores will be carrying the new Impossibly Good line yet, it appears that grocery stores, including Shaws, close to the Worcester, Massachusetts-based company are stocking them.
If you're not in New England, but desperate to see what these mythically-inspired seltzers taste like, six packs are already popping up on eBay.
