When Iron Chef returned to Food Network earlier this spring after a three-year hiatus, fans were hyped to root for new chefs and see their old favorites back in action. Iron Chef Gauntlet brought seven elite chefs to compete for the title of Iron Chef, with Chicago-based chef Stephanie Izard crowned the winner.

Apparently Gauntlet wasn't enough to satiate Food Network viewers' appetites though. Another spin-off has just been announced — Iron Chef Showdown. Host Alton Brown took to Twitter to announce the new show, which has just wrapped filming and is set to premiere at the end of 2017.

According to the Food Network blog, Showdown will feature Iron Chefs Bobby Flay, Jose Garces, Michael Symon, Alex Guarnaschelli and Izard competing against each other in Kitchen Stadium.

Fans can expect new secret ingredients and all-star chef match-ups, the blog says. Alton Brown will of course host, and Mark Dacascos is coming back as chairman. Sportscaster Jaymee Sire, who most recently worked for ESPN, is coming on as a floor reporter.
