When it comes to family dinners, we all know it can be hard to find something quick, nutritious, and affordable to serve on a busy weeknight — until now. Because Chick-fil-A is about to answer your easy family dinner prayers.
The fast-food chain just announced it is going to be rolling out family-style meals in Phoenix, Arizona, San Antonio, Texas, and Greensboro, North Carolina. The meals will include one entrée, two side dishes, and eight mini rolls, and will start at $30, according to Business Insider. If the company gets positive customer feedback (and how could they not?!), the meals may become available nationwide.
For the main course, you'll get to choose from 30 chicken nuggets, 12 chicken strips, or four chicken breasts that can be grilled or fried. And along with the eight rolls, you'll get your choice of two side dishes — you can opt for fruit, salad, a "superfood" side of kale and broccolini, or one of two brand new sides options: bacon baked beans and mac and cheese. The beans are kettle-cooked, and they'll be flavored with bacon and brown sugar. The macaroni will be coated with three cheesy layers of Cheddar, Parmesan, and Romano.
In an effort to make dinner even more enjoyable for busy families, the cutlery caddy will have five different conversation starters. "Mealtime should be an enjoyable experience that brings family and friends together, not an extra stress in the day," said menu development manager Matt Abercrombie in a press release.
So if you live in Phoenix, San Antonio, or Greensboro, act fast — the family-style meals will only be available for testing until November 18. As for the rest of us, we'll be dreaming about that mac and cheese.
