Bacon and cheese are amazing on, well, anything. So as you'd guess, tossing them both on a basket of McDonald's fries is pure magic. In January, the fast food chain's Loaded Bacon Cheese Fries came and then quickly went as part of a limited-edition rollout. Well now, after months pining for this fan-favorite side, THEY'RE BACK and in stores nationwide.
According to TODAY, they'll arrive back on menus this summer. Though unfortunately, we're unsure whether that's on a permanent or short term basis. Now for the important deets. How does said magic get made? McDonalds begins with premium potatoes and tops them with real cheddar cheese sauce and applewood smoked bacon bits. And while they're meant to be shared by two, I fully intend on downing a basket allllllll by myself.
We've still got a few weeks till their official arrival, but I'm starting to wonder if they're already back. On May 15, one Michael D'Agostino—also known as @MichaelDaga2—wrote "McDonalds new bacon cheese fries definitely didn’t disappoint" on Twitter. The post seems to suggest he just tried them. They've reportedly been missing from menus since March and I'd highly doubt Mr. D'Agostino has been just sitting on his Bacon Cheese Fry review for that long. It could be wishful thinking, but also, it could mean certain locations have already reintroduced them.
Obviously, we'll keep you updated on any and all fry-related developments.

McDonald's fans, your January 29 meal plans are set. That Wednesday, McDonald's restaurants nationwide will officially begin serving Bacon Cheese Fries—the crispy, stringy fries you know and love topped with cheddar cheese sauce and smoked bacon bits. YUM.
The fries are only here for a limited time, so indulge while you can.

At long last, McDonald's may be bringing Bacon Cheese Fries to the masses. Mickey D's has been toying with hearts for awhile now, testing a Loaded Bacon & Cheese Basket Of Fries back in 2017 and selling a new iteration, Cheesy Bacon Fries, in Northern California and Hawaii this November (called a regional item, not a test item, Nation's Restaurant News reports).
But come 2019, the entire country might be able to order these bad boys. Business Insider reported Friday that a McDonald's employee with knowledge of the situation told BI the fries will be available nationwide early next year.
When reached out to for comment by Delish, McDonald's had a cheeky response: "I'm afraid I'll have to provide a cheesy no comment. At this moment, our kitchens are bacon-ing something together. But we're not yet ready to share the gouda news."
Sounds promising to me! Photos have already surfaced from California and Hawaii, and it looks like you get a generous portion. We'll update this story when more information is available!

If you're one of those people who thinks that there is no conceivable way for McDonald's french fries to get any better, you are going to need to want to sit down for this. The Golden Arches is topping its "world famous fries" with cheese and bacon.
Yeah, that's right. Eat your heart out, Wendy's Baconator Fries. In response to competitors ramping up America's favorite side dish, Mickey D's has thrown its hat into the ring with its new Loaded Bacon & Cheese Basket Of Fries, Brand Eating reports.
A favorite at ball games, this fried take on a loaded baked potato has been absent from fast food chains for far too long. In fact, in order to get them at McDonald's you have to go to Central West Virginia, Eastern Kentucky, the Greater Pittsburgh area, or Southeast Ohio.
At $4, this basket of cheesy frites is double the price of Wendy's version, and 50 cents more than In-N-Out's animal-style fries. So why should we even get excited?
It's simple. In the world of fast food fries, McDonald's reigns supreme. Ranked by Thrillist, Uproxx, Business Insider, and Buzzfeed all as second to only Arby's curly fries – a loss we can accept – McDonald's is clearly the top contender for straight cut french fries nationwide. And now there is BACON on them.
Honestly, there's no better way to clog your arteries.
