If you've ever had a knife, pot, pan, or baking sheet get rusty then you know the hell it takes to get it sparkling like new again. Most of the time you probably give up and start searching Amazon for a replacement. (No, just us?) Instead of putting in insane amounts of elbow grease, there's a relatively easy way to approach a rusted kitchen tool.

IF YOU NEED A SHINY NEW KNIFE: Cuisinart Classic Chef's Knife, amazon.com.

Thanks to a video by the YouTube channel JunsKitchen, polishing is easier than ever. All you have to do is grab an abrasive sponge and load up your knife or pan with a rust remover (but you can also use a paste made from baking soda and a bit of water and scrubbing with steel wool.) Then, simply run it over a wet stone knife sharpener and it will look even better than new. Seriously.

To prevent future rusting (remember that stainless steel is rust resistant but not completely rust-proof!), it's best practice to regularly treat your best blades with a coat of oil.
