It happened with Big Mac sauce — and bottles of Clearly Canadian, too. Now, the Pioneer Woman's new magazine has joined the ranks of crazy popular items to hit eBay's online marketplace at a totally inflated cost. It only took fans a week to scoop up nearly every copy of her eponymous magazine from Walmart locations across the country. The superstore started selling The Pioneer Woman Magazine on June 6, and while that first round of 150,000 copies is gone, publishers have already ordered another 100,000 to be distributed soon.
And for those that can't wait, there's eBay. The original cost is displayed right on the front of the magazine — it's $3.99 — but sellers are starting bidding as low as $1.25. If a bidding war just isn't your style, you could always opt for a Buy It Now deal. Act fast, and you could snag one of the copies with a smaller price tag, like a measly $14. (Don't worry, we did the math for you: That's three-and-a-half times as much as you'd have paid at Walmart.) There's also someone selling the first edition at $41, which better be delivered with a plate of Ree's famous home-cooked grub, too.
Once word of the sell-out spreads, we're sure plenty more copies will hit the site. And entrepreneurial eBay-ers, take note: Work on the second issue of The Pioneer Woman Magazine is already underway, with a newsstand date planned for September — which means you've got about three months to plan your buy-then-sell tactics.
