Unveiled over the weekend as a part of an expanded McCafe menu, McDonald's Hong Kong has released the sandwich of our dreams, reports Brand Eating. Or rather, sandwiches: the Bacon Macaroni & Cheese Toastie and the Corn & Cheese Champignon Toastie. ("Toastie" is just another word for grilled sandwich.)
While the first one seems rather self-explanatory — two slices of bread surround a gooey layer of bacon-studded macaroni and cheese — the Corn & Cheese Champignon Toastie isn't like anything you'd find stateside. It features corn cheese, a popular Korean side dish, that's typically a mix of corn, mayonnaise, and mozzarella, according to Business Insider.
Throw in some champignon mushrooms (more commonly known in the states as button mushrooms), slather it between two pieces of bread, and you've got yourself the newest item on the McDonald's Hong Kong menu. If you can't make it to China anytime soon, you could always make it yourself.
However, if you're holding out hope — or launching a Change.org petition — to bring the dish stateside, don't hold your breath. Like that technicolor melon cream soda, these sandwiches probably won't make it to the McDonald's menu anytime soon.
