This year's brought no shortage of new Oreo flavors — blueberry pie, waffles & syrup, Mississippi mud pie, and the popping-candy-infused Firework variety — and the sandwich cookie company's showing no signs of slowing down. Starting Friday, June 2, people will be able to finally try a flavor that's been teased for months: Jelly Donut.

Yes, those super-sleuth junk food bloggers weren't playing Photoshop games with your heart. The flavor's real, but you'll only be able to find a bag at Walmart. It's a store exclusive, which shouldn't be too surprising, since it was one of three varieties people could vote on last year to bring to life. While the people had spoken — declaring Cookies & Creme the winner and causing an internet outcry — the superstore decided to make its second runner-up a reality.

The jelly donut variety features Golden Oreo cookies sandwiching a dual-layer creme filling: The inner circle is raspberry, while the outer ring tastes like custard, a Walmart representative said. Each package will retail for $2.89, and they'll only be available for a limited time, so if you see a box, stock up quickly.

This Oreo flavor seems right in line with another limited-edition treat headed our way this summer — a sandwich cookie that tastes just like Dunkin' Donuts' iced mocha latte. It's expected later this summer, so you can have your donuts and coffee ... all in cookie form. (And if you really want to get meta, you could crumble them atop the frosting on actual donuts and dunk them in coffee. Boom.)
